Our client is growing and they need to add another Manufacturing Engineer to their staff.  They are located in a Northwest suburb of the Twin Cities.  It is a growing company which offers professional advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Design fixtures and a variety tooling such as cutting tools, dies, gauges and fixtures for testing, prototype building, pilot plant production or other activities related to manufacture parts.
  • Develop Layout’s, Set-Up methodology and CNC programs for machine tools.
  • Use knowledge of machine operations to develop code to control CNC machine operation.
  • Provide process plans and cycle times for cost estimates for quoting new work.
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales in communicating information to customers and to enable company to win new work.
  • Work with QA Lead to develop quality plans for part manufacturing.
  • Utilize SPC to monitor key features and process capabilities.
    Take positive corrective action based on DMR, SPC charts or information provided to improve product quality and process reliability.
  • Provide ideas for manufacturing improvements to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Recommend sourcing of supplies, service, tools and equipment from outside vendors.
  • Provide work training and direction to others.

    Requirements:
  • 3+ years of work experience as a high-level machine technician or machinist or has specialized training in the precision metal turning industry. 
  • Knowledge of Screw machines: Swiss, Multi-spindles, Esco, Chuckers and Grinding
  • Overall strong machining knowledge including: Tooling, speeds, feeds, cutting tools and materials.
  • Must be proficient with GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Working knowledge of SPC.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and material flow
  • CAD and CAM proficiency using programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor and PartMaker.
  • Strong math, communication, organizational and mechanical skills.
